Track 1 - The Fire Within
There is a Fire deep within all of us. Don't keep it in, let it out. This song is about standing up for yourself. Don't let people push you around. Show the world what you can do and don't take shit off anyone. If you do that, then you can achieve anything, your dreams, your goals, and your desires. The only thing stopping you from getting what you want out of life is you. Don't depend on the government, your employer, welfare, drugs or whatever crutches you may have. Do it yourself for yourself. Lyrics: Can you see the light Can you feel the burning deep inside your life When emotions drain The heart and soul and all you feel is pain What would you say When they came and pushed and took it all away Would you fight them back Or does a brave soul in you truly lack The skills to be What you want to be Overcome the fear And take control And then you might feel What you want to feel When you take it this far You never want to look back You gotta feel You gotta fight Let it Out The Fire Within Feel the pain To be alive Let it Out The Fire Within The Fire Within Let It Out The Fire Within When they say you can’t Don’t believe a word, you know you can When they say don’t try That’s when you feel the fire burning deep inside Be seen not heard Restricting your life seems so absurd Don’t hide the fire Let it burn and grow and never tire And then you’ll see What you want to see They’ll leave you alone To live your life on your own Now you’ve seen the light And you felt the burning deep inside your life Emotions don’t drain Strong hearts and souls don’t feel is pain You know what to say When they came and tried to take it all away You fought them back Your brave soul shines through and attacks And now you see What you want to see Now you’re standing strong To live your life on your own Track 2 Immortality When Columbus came to the Americas, the tribe who greeted him was the Arawak. They were almost extinct due to disease and other things after that. A group of them set out to find the Fountain of Youth and were never heard of again. This song is a story about them finding the Fountain of Youth. Instead of being destroyed or enslaved, they are still alive today. Lyrics: In 1513 on the way to the land There stood a rumor rivers came from the sand With healing powers at its feet Believe it not it’s full of deceit Many searched and many tried And many failed side by side But the Arawak could not fail For they knew they had to prevail Immortality That’s what they did Ponce never tried Arawak lives on They never died Here comes the Fountain Here comes the Youth Don’t believe the stories Don’t believe the truth When times rolls on Then time goes still If you drink the waters You can never be killed Verse: The poor tribe so peace so peaceful and calm In peace they lived in the Ivory Palm European plans had no solution Facing slavery, the retribution If they did not find This Fountain of Youth Enslaved they’d be That’s the bitter truth Track 3 - Running Away A pirate once made a deal with the devil. The price for success was his soul. Although success came to the pirate and he was rich and had everything he desired, he realized nothing is ever as good as it seems. So he refused to pay up and tried running away. The story picks up with the pirate sailing his ship through a vicious storm as Satan rains down on him. He is trying to make it to some holy lands where he thinks he'll be safe from Satan's wrath. As he sees the land up ahead, he thinks he made it and is safe. Until he enters port and sees the sign, "Welcome to the Port of Hell" Lyrics: By the stars and moon we navigate On our way to the promise land With the stormy seas crashing down on me I’ll never ever see the light again We’ve sailed so far We’ve path is so hard I’ll never do this again But if I made this far It can’t be so hard To burn bridges once again With hellhounds on my trail A soul as cold as ice I got no deal with you I ain’t gonna pay Running away Running away Doomed to hell I run away Running away Running away The snake eyes call my name The storm has come but I see the land I found a way to save my soul The lighthouse guides me in I think I’m gonna win The holy lands are in my reach But as I see the port ahead I feel the cold and dead I think I been tricked again As Satan surely laughs I see the sign ahead “Welcome to the Port of Hell” |
Track 4 - Singing River
The Pascagoula River flows calmly through the town of Pascagoula Mississippi and spills out into the Gulf of Mexico. If you find yourself near the river on a nice day and you listen very hard, you can hear a slow, moaning, rhythm. It's as if the river chants the slow dying song of death. The river is named after the Pascagoula Indians, who were a peaceful group. Nearby were the Biloxi Indians, who were very warlike. The tribes lived there in peace with the understanding that the tribes will never intermingle. This worked fine for a while until a young brave for the Pascagoula Indians fell in love with a young girl from the Biloxi Indians. This love was forbidden. The Pascagoula tribe knew the Biloxi tribe would declare war and destroy them. So instead of facing certain death at the hands of a barbarian tribe, the Pascagoula Indians held hands and sang songs of death as they marched into the river, committing suicide. If you listen close, you can still hear the song of death. Lyrics: Two tribes that lived alone On the river that flowed so slow They lived in harmony Cross paths, they never go But when he saw her face He could not be denied Peace be damned, I don’t care What it takes, we’ll lie He’ll throw it all away Biloxi tribe will make them pay The peace will be over At war we’ll surely die Singing River Let me die If you can hear me now Release me from my cries Singing River Our death awaits Pascagoula paid the price Young lovers sealed their fates So they marched on Singing the lonely song Into the river they died The young tribe knew their fate They knew they had no chance Once the chief found out the love They knew he’d take a stance Massacre would be the way To punish all the weak Biloxi tribe must remain pure He must kill them all Track 5 - Ronin In Japan, before modernization found the island, the sword ruled it. The Samurai were the most feared and respected group and formed clans. There were several clans throughout the land that ruled their areas and waged war on one another. There was one such group of Samurai known as the Ronin. The story picks up as the Ronin are attacking a small village. The village is no match and they know they face a massacre. There was however one older Samurai who inspired the village to rise up and fight the Ronin and do not give in. The old warrior was once a great fighter, but age had caught up to him. So as he led the charge to fight the Ronin, he was the first to loose his head to the dismay of the village as they saw this in horror. Lryics: In the days of the darkest nights When the skyline was no more There stood a shadow of what was a great man Who no longer could endure What had happened to his once great lands Where he peacefully exists Invaded by pale foreigners His people no longer could resist They stormed the beach They reigned hell all night With death they rode Stormers The Ronin Death chant Was all that we could hear Like bullets busting glass It brought us such a fear As they grew louder thru the night We knew that hell was on it’s way Better pick up your sword and fight The Ronin’s on it’s way The shadowman grabbed his sword And thrust it in the air He stood high above the crowd Inspired them all to fight As the Ronin burst thru the door The shadowman fought them first You could hear a pin drop As the shadowman lost his head Track 6 - Formation This song is simply about life. Growing up. Taking responsibility for your actions, because what you do can hurt others around you. Just because you are grown doesn't mean you've arrived. That is when the real work starts, so don't get too excited just because you are old enough to vote, buy beer or have a kid. Lead, inspire and take control of your life. Lyrics: Welcome to this place called life We hope that you learn well Better yet take it by the horns Or you wish that you were in hell It’s been one thousand years And I think that you went blind If you read the signs of time The tree of life you’ll find This is my life This is my time When you came, there’s no turning back You got no partner in your crime Formation Creation Formation Fight for your salvation Formation Temptation Formation Don’t be bothered by this sensation So you’re thinking that you’re good enough Now the Sun shines down on you Just cuz you’re all grown up and Don’t go thinking that you’re through The hardest thing to do starts now Decisions that you make Gonna trouble those around you It’s a little give and take Track 7 - Sometimes This song is a remake of the Dan Hill song, "Sometimes When We Touch". The original is a sappy love song, but has great chord changes and a good melody. Ashen Reign thought it sounded good sped up and metal'd out. Lyrics: You ask me if I love you and I choke on my reply I'd rather hurt you honestly than mislead you with a lie And who am I to judge you on what you say or do I'm only just beginning to see the real you And sometimes when we touch the honesty's too much and I have to close my eyes and hide I wanna hold you till I die untill we both break down and cry I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides Romance and all its strategy leaves me battling with my pride But through the insecurity some tenderness survives I'm just a writer, still trapped within my truths A hesitant prizefighter still trapped within my youth At times I'd like to break you and drive you to your knees At times I'd like to break through and hold you endlessly At times I understand you and I know how hard you've tried I've watched while love commands you and I've watched love pass you by At times I think we're drifters, still searching for a friend, A brother or a sister, but then the passion flares again Track 8 - Happy Go Lucky An instrumental played in C# Major. The melody was upbeat and just sounded too damn happy. But sounded too damn cool to change to some minor key and make it dark and gloomy. So Ashen Reign kept it happy sounding and just went with it. Enjoy!! |
